Choosing a scent for hot weather
Heat makes perfume project more. Here's how to pick fragrances that feel fresh in summer rather than heavy.
In high temperatures, fragrance evaporates faster and projects further. A scent that feels cosy in December can feel overwhelming in August.
Lean fresh in the daytime
Citrus, green tea, aquatic and light floral fragrances feel cool and clean in the heat. They suit offices, malls and daytime meetings.
Save the richness for the evening
Oud, amber and vanilla still have a place in summer — after sunset, when the air cools down. One or two sprays are usually enough.
Use fewer sprays
Heat amplifies everything. If you normally use four sprays, try two in summer and see how far the scent travels.
Keep a small size with you
A 30 ml bottle fits in a bag for a quick refresh after a long day outdoors, without carrying your full bottle around.
